The club is best known for its professional football team, which plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. Bayern Munich is the most successful club in German football history, holding a record 25 national titles and 17 national cups to date.

Bayern Munich is currently ranked second in the UEFA team rankings as wella s the IFFHS’s latest IFFHS Club World Rankings.
